Comments: Coconino Sample Plot S5; Taken 20' behind Cor. C2, Plot S5II (C). Area fenced in 1919. Shows chiefly how top slash has disappeared in 15-year period since cutting. Considerable reproduction being established in place formerly occupied by slash. The large tree in rear is dying and beneath it is a fine stand of seedlings. These are mostly of 1918 seed crop. The area had a fairly dense stand of Festuca to begin with but at the present time there is also considerale Muhlenbergia and Blepharoneuron. See La-119 (1959). See also DJN-95
