Comments: Three shoots from specimen shown in No. 235458. Normal leader, and leader and laterals taken early when growth was short in June. Specimen to left, adventitious buds from terminus of 1927 growth and from point of injury on lateral on 1928 growth. Specimen to right, same as to left except shows bud on 1928 growth and two buds in needle sheaths formed so close to end of injured lateral that it is virtually an extension of growth.
