Comments: 1928, 1913, and 1959. Taken from NE corner, strip 6, Plot S5III(B). Area fenced in 1919. Shows failure of reproduction to become established under blackjack group. There are a few small seedlings near the stumps, but these do not show up in picture. Note the heavy pine-needle litter. Grass is spare and mostly Sitanion. (Note that this picture with the negative revered. The photo was printed backwards.) See La-139 (1959). See also DJN-117
