Shows chiefly how well the branches of pulled tops have been broken down and decayed. The only seedlings present (but not visible in photo) are near the stems of old tops. One seedling 14" tall is at point where man kneels. This has been badly stunted through grazing of sheep. Has this area been fenced, there would, undoubtedly, be many seedlings established by this time as conditions are favorable. See La-143 (1959). See also DJN-129, DJN-128 |
