Comments: 7/26/28 Ft. Valley Experimental Forest. Cooperrider-Cassidy study. Reproduction of 3' size damage by cattle. Bud 1927 taken completely, or 1927 growth injured in fall of 1927. In either case buds from 1927 wood have developed shoots from around point of injury. 1 in to 5 in long. Latent buds for these shoots were probably present when the one developed was taken, if injury did occur in 1928. Note shoot to right in photo damaged a short time before photo was taken. Shoot to left slightly damaged by tipmoth.
