| Comments: | Coconino Sample Plot S1; Root-competition plot trenched in 1923 on north side of group of pnderosa pine. Boundaries outlined by rake and sticks. Sunlight falls on this plot up to 11a.m. in summer. Seedlings are 15 years or older. Looking southwest. Those inside the trench plot have made no more rapid growth than those outside. Other plants on and near the plit are Lupinus, Sitanion, and Thalictrum. West of Fort Valley Experimental Station grounds, near Coconino Permanent Sample Plot S1. |
