Comments: Ponderosa pine seedlings showing different stages of recovery from grazing damage. All are of 1919 origin and were held down for years by browsing. The one on the left has developed a good mass of foliage but still has no leader; one in the middle has formed a good leader; the one on the right is making good height, growth, but still shows the characteristic bushy foliage and bend at the base of the stem.
