| Comments: | Cooperrider-Cassidy study. Govt. Knolls progressive Plot B-4, tree No. 25. Closeup of bole 2 in. in diam. showing one old persistent needle of old needle-bundle bud; shoots developed into main stem which in time straightened up completely. Illustrates complete recovery from old injury. Top of tree is now about 4ft. above place of photo. Due to repeated injury impossible to tell exactly what yr. bud started-either 1931 or 1930, probably 1930-from 2in grazed stub. Note undeveloped remnants of what are probably old wood buds on bole near persistent needle. Duplicates photo 269354. |
