Comments: Timber-stand improvement, control plot No. 9. Large tree is worthless for lumber and is the type usually poisoned. White-banded trees are pruned crop trees, tall, slender limbs seldom more than 1/2 inch in diam. This class of crop trees can be pruned to a ht. of 17 ft. in 2 or 3 min.
