| Comments: | Medd Ranch near Skull Valley, AZ. Fenced plot No.2; this illustrates a stand of turbinella oak and catclaw (Mimosa biuncifera) on a steep slope with loose granite soil which is eroding at the present time; there is a fair cover of sideoats and black gram at this plot which has been protected from grazing for 1 yr at this time. With the amt of grasses present this plot should show some improvement under protection from grazing although an increase in density of perennial grass cover appears to be very slow on this type of range. |
