Comments: Timber-stand improvement, ponderosa pine. A worthless tree surrounded by well-formed poles and saplings. The old trees should be removed. If it is felled, the slender stems underneath will be bent over by snow; if it is killed by poisoning and allowed to stand, it will protect the younger trees against snow damage.
