Comments: An early photo of G.A. Pearson (standing) at a meeting with other foresters, likely inside one of the tent buildings shown in the other photos. Pearson joined the Forest Service in 1907 in Oregon and was sent to establish a research station at Fort Valley soon after his arrival in Arizona in 1908. The next ten years were spent developing the station and fencing experimental plots, leaving little time for research. He spent the remainder of his career here, serving as director from 1929 to 1935 before stepping down to devote his time to pondersoa pine research until his retirement in 1945.
