Comments: Fort Valley elevational gradient meteorology study; Timberline on Mt. Agassiz, San Francisco Mts., altitude 11,500 ft. The stand here is pure Engelmann Spruce. The tops are killed by the wind, which here sweeps over the ridge from the north. Photo on ridge, west exposure. Snow 6-8 ft. deep. Meteorological station 11a within a few feet.
