The Forest has 33 campgrounds with over 651 individual sites. The majority of the campgrounds are operated by a private concessionaire operator that is permitted by the RGNF. Some campgrounds have on-site hosts. While electric, sewer, and water hook-ups and showers are not available, most campgrounds have potable water and vault toilets. Eight of the campgrounds have sites that can be reserved.
Campground reservations may be made through Recreation.gov at 1-877-444-6777 or online at http://www.recreation.gov. Reservations are recommended for holiday weekends.
- Camping is limited to 14 days in a 30-day period.
- Dogs must be on a leash in the campgrounds, under voice command everywhere else, must not chase wildlife and you must clean up after them.
