The Rio Grande National Forest is now soliciting applications for a concession campground special use permit. A permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located within the Rio Grande National Forest, Conejos Peak and Divide Ranger Districts.

The Forest has 33 campgrounds with over 651 individual sites. The majority of the campgrounds are operated by Scenic Canyons Recreational Services, and some have on-site hosts. While electric, sewer, and water hook-ups and showers are not available, most campgrounds have potable water vault toilets. Eight of the campgrounds have sites that can be reserved.

  • Camping is limited to 14 days in a 30-day period.
  • Dogs must be on a leash in the campgrounds, under voice command everywhere else, must not chase wildlife and you must clean up after them.
