Passes
The Rio Grande National Forest offers nearly endless free opportunities for your use and enjoyment. Fees are charged in some developed recreation areas and some activities require a permit with a fee. The Rio Grande National Forest does not have a general entrance fee and the Forest honors Interagency Passes at all fee campgrounds.
Interagency Recreation Passes can provide either free entrance or a discount for certain recreation fees.
America the Beautiful Passes are a suite of annual and lifetime passes that provide U.S. citizens and visitors an affordable and convenient way to access Federal recreational lands. Up to 100% of the Pass program's proceeds are used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services.
They may be purchased or picked up at any of our district offices during business hours.
