Rager Travel Management Area Green Dot Closure
Alert
Date(s): Aug 27, 2023 - Dec 31, 2023
The Rager and South Boundary travel management areas permit motorized vehicles to drive on roads labeled with a green dot while all other roads and cross-country travel will be closed to motorized use.
The Forest Service, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), and the Bureau of Land Management manage two green dot cooperative travel management areas (TMA) in the Paulina Ranger District: Rager and South Boundary. These green dot closures help to prevent resource damage, provide improved habitat for wildlife, increase use of the area by elk, provide space for non-motorized recreation, and promote quality hunting.
The Rager and South Boundary TMAs permit motorized vehicles to drive on roads labeled with a green dot while all other roads and cross-country travel are closed to motorized use during the following dates:
Rager Travel Management Area Closure: August 20 – November 20
South Boundary Travel Management Area Closure: Year-Round
