Maps Available for Free
The Dixie National Forest produces numerous digital map products every year. Many of our maps are available free of charge. Several maps listed below are available for download and GPS enabled on smart devices.
Most of our maps are now available for your mobile device running Android or Apple operating systems. The Free App is available for download through Avenza System Inc.: www.avenza.com/pdf-maps . This application along with our newly designed PDF maps, will allow you to view your location at all times, even without a cell phone signal, as you navigate through the forest.
Downloadable maps have been posted at their published size. This means that some of the maps are too large to be printed by a desktop printer. These maps can be viewed on your computer or you can use the "Fit" option in Adobe Reader to reduce their size to fit your printer.
Travel Maps
The Dixie National Forest Travel Map is a full-color map featuring roads, motorized and non-motorized trails, as well as natural and man-made features. While similar in purpose, this map does not replace the official Motorized Vehicle Use Map.

Personal Use Firewood Maps
The Firewood Maps show areas that are Open/Closed to personal use firewood cutting. This map is reissued each year and is distributed along with personal use firewood tags. Please read the Firewood Permit Conditions & Information Document for more information about gathering firewood on the Dixie National Forest.
You must be in posession of Dixie National Forest Firewood Tag in order to collect firewood on the forest.

Motor Vehicle Use Maps
The Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) is a legal document reissued each year that identifies the roads and trails where motor vehicles are allowed. These black and white maps display motorized routes that are OPEN for motor vehicles.

Camping Maps (Dispersed and Campground)
East Fork Dispersed Camping - Near the Tropic Reservoir and along the East Fork of the Sevier River and FS Road 087 in the Dixie National Forest there is free, dispersed camping in 10 designated locations. Sites 1,7-10 are single unit sites. Sites 2-6 are multi-unit sites.

Cedar Mountain Snowmobile Complex
The Cedar Mountain Snowmobile Complex brochure features snowmobile trails on the Cedar City Ranger District. The brochure includes trail description and recommendations as well as the location of services such as food, gas, and toilets.

Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area
The Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area encompasses more than 1,300 acres of some of the most beautiful winter landscapes on the Dixie National Forest. This brochure highlights the groomed cross-country ski trails, fat bike trails, and marked snowshoeing trails. It is not for motorized travel.
