The Forest Visitor Maps of each National Forest and Grassland provide forest-wide information on attractions, facilities, services, and opportunities. Some maps are readily available to purchase at your Forest District offices. Please contact the local forest directly to check on availability.

Motor Vehicle Use Maps - MVUM
A Motorized Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) is a legal document that shows which roads and trails are open to public motor vehicle use. If a road or trail does not appear on the map, it means that it is not open to public motor vehicular use.
The MVUM is a black and white map with no topographic features. It is best used with a Forest Visitor Map or other detailed map. The MVUM will be updated as needed to correct mapping errors or discrepancies and update travel decisions.
If you plan on camping, driving off-highway vehicles, hunting, or exploring the backcountry; please make sure you review the appropriate MVUM to know which routes are open to motor vehicle use. For more information, please visit MVUM Frequently Asked Questions and KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

Visitor Use Travel Map: The Dixie National Forest Travel Map is a full-color map featuring roads, motorized and non-motorized trails, as well as natural and man-made features. While similar in purpose, this map does not replace the official Motorized Vehicle Use Map.

Winter Recreation Maps
Winter Recreation Maps: The Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area encompasses more than 1,300 acres of some of the most beautiful winter landscapes on the Dixie National Forest. This brochure highlights the groomed cross-country ski trails, fat bike trails, and marked snowshoeing trails. It is not for motorized travel.

Camping Maps
Camping Maps - Dispersed and Campground:
East Fork Dispersed Camping: On the Powell Ranger District, near the Tropic Reservoir and along the East Fork of the Sevier River and FS Road 087 in the Dixie National Forest there is free, dispersed camping in 10 designated locations. Sites 1,7-10 are single unit sites. Sites 2-6 are multi-unit sites.

Markagunt OHV Trail Map: The Markagunt OHV Trail Map (can use with Avenza app also) provides information about popular trails open to OHV on the Markagunt Plateau and the Dixie National Forest.

Featured Trails Maps: The Featured Trails Map series provides information about some of the most popular trails on the Dixie National Forest. The brochure includes a map of the trail, a "Getting There" map, as well as in-depth information about the trail. These maps and brochures are 11" X 17".

Personal Use Firewood Maps
Personal Use Firewood Maps: The Firewood Maps show areas that are Open/Closed to personal use firewood cutting. This map is reissued each year and is distributed along with personal use firewood tags. Please read the Firewood Permit Conditions & Information document for more information about gathering firewood on the Dixie National Forest. You must be in possession of Dixie National Forest Firewood Tag in order to collect firewood on the forest.
