The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is part of the U.S. Forest Service which is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Located in Nevada and portions of eastern California, the Forest is headquartered in Sparks, Nevada, and has seven districts. There are Ranger District offices in Austin, Carson City, Elko, Ely, Las Vegas, Tonopah, Wells, and Winnemucca in Nevada and Bridgeport in California. The Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway is located in Mt Charleston, Nevada, near Las Vegas. The Galena Creek Vistor Center is located in Reno, Nevada.

Contacting each Ranger District office or visitor center directly is the best way to gather the most up-to-date and detailed information about recreation sites, roads, trails, events and specific questions you may have. If you are interested in forest-wide information or do not know which office you should contact, the supervisor's office will be able to help you.
