What’s Open in Northern & Central New Mexico

Due to extreme fire danger, and out of concern for your safety, the Santa Fe National Forest is closed as of June 1, 2018 and the Cibola National Forest has closed large areas beginning June 15, 2018. The Carson National Forest is currently open.

Remember, all standing restrictions apply to these sites as well. All of Northern New Mexico is under a fire ban. That means no wood or charcoal fires (or anything else that may spark), anywhere. Consult this list for recreational activities nearby.

For status updates, please call the listed phone number for the location of interest before you arrive.
