Doing Business with the Forest Service

Are you a business person who would like to provide your products or services to the Forest Service? The Cherokee National Forest performs a wide variety of functions from fire and aviation support, construction, transportation, equipment leasing, special studies and analyses, and so much more. However, the Forest Service, as with other federal agencies, are under strict guidance of how we can or cannot work with you. There are three kinds of contracts:

  • Construction: Involves the construction, alteration or repair (including excavating and painting) of buildings, structures or other real property.
  • Service: Directly engages the time and effort of a contractor whose primary purpose is to perform an identifiable task.
  • Supply: Furnishing of a commodity, product or equipment. This also includes the manufacture, fabrication or processing of raw material into a finished product, and may also include procurement of raw materials.
