NEW! Travel Maps

The Manti-La Sal National Forest has created full-color Travel Maps for the Ferron-Price, Sanpete, and Moab-Monticello districts showing ownership, campgrounds, waterways and contours. The maps are available online and are updated annually. The most current maps usually become available online in early May. The most recent hard copies are available at Forest Service Offices later in May. These maps display officially designated motorized roads and trails, as found on the annual Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM). The Travel Maps generally have more context than the MVUMs and are considered more useful for customers. However, Motor vehicle use maps (MVUM)  are prepared and issued under 36 CFR 212.56, and identify those forest roads, trails, and areas designated for motor vehicle use.  MVUMs are legal documents and should be relied on as such. Travel Maps are not. Both maps are posted here and an MVUM can be printed for you at any Forest Service Office. Travel Maps and MVUM are distributed free of charge.

Interactive Visitor Maps

The new National Forest Interactive Visitor Map is a work in progress.  Information on trails and recreation sites is still being added.

The Interactive Travel Map depicts forest roads and trails, as well as recreation sites.

National Forest Visitor Maps

Visitor maps for each national forest and grassland provide forest-wide information on attractions, facilities, services, and opportunities. These maps are available to purchase from individual forests and retail outlets.

Visitor maps for the Manti-La Sal National Forest were revised in 2013.  In addition to the sources listed above, these maps are for sale at local Manti-La Sal National Forest offices in Price, Ferron, Ephraim, Moab, and Monticello in Utah.

A free Visitor guide for the Manti-La Sal National Forest is also available.  It contains recreation sites, history, a basic map and other valuable information.
