Contracting

National Forests in Mississippi (NFsMS) are substantial contributors to the economies of local communities through contracting with businesses for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services.

Contracting for the National Forests in Mississippi is serviced by the Acquisition Zone West (AZW).  In addition to the NFsMS, AZW provides acquisition support for Forest Health Protection and the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, and the Ouachita National Forest and Ozark-St. Francis National Forest over Arkansas and parts of Oklahoma. Forest contacts can be found using the  AZW Staff Directory.

Link to the March 2009 Doing Business with the Forest Service provides information about the Forest Service contracting program.

A listing of future projects can be found on the USDA’s Procurement Forecast Website.  Make sure to select “FS” under ‘Sub-Agency’.

The Federal Business Opportunities website, known as FedBizOpps, is where commercial vendors may search and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal contracting community, including the Forest Service.  To find a list of current projects advertised on the Federal Business Opportunities website:

1. Go to www.fbo.gov
2. Type "447U" into the "keyword/solicitation #" block
3. Click on the "search" button.
