Porcupine Saddle Trailhead

Porcupine Saddle Trailhead has parking space for up to eight vehicles with adequate turnaround area. This is a popular shared use trail for mountain biking and horseback riding. Expect horses and mountain bikes to be present during peak visitor months (May to October).  Please yield appropriately and practice trail etiquette.

General Information

Food Storage Required: Food Storage Order Bitterroot National Forest

Weed Seed Free feed is required on all national forest land: Weed Free Forage & Mulch Products Regional Order

Please practice Leave No Trace Principles when visiting forest land.

Pack it in Pack it out, no garbage service provided.  

No overnight camping. 

Open year round, snow dependent.

Day use. Overnight parking only allowed if not occupying vehicle. 

Pets must be under control at all times. Leashes recommended to prevent user and wildlife conflicts.

Properly dispose of pet waste bags (pack in/out).

Directions

From Sula, MT head south 5 miles on Hwy 93. Turn west (right) onto Forest Road #729 (Camp Creek Road). Turn south (left) onto Forest Road #8112 and follow for 6 miles to the trailhead.
