Blodgett Creek Trail # 19
The Blodgett Creek Trail follows Blodgett Creek through a dramatic, granite-walled canyon with cliffs rising more than 2,000 feet above the water. The trail extends 12.6 miles, beginning at Road 736.2 at the southwest corner of the parking area and ending at Blodgett Lake. It is open to both hiking and horseback riding.
This trail is well-suited for day hikes to the creek and falls, as well as multi-day backpacking trips, with numerous creekside campsites available along the route.
Along the way, visitors will encounter a memorial site honoring Don Mackey, a local Smokejumper who tragically lost his life in the 1994 Storm King Fire.

Directions
From Stevensville, take the Stevi Cutoff Highway (Hwy 269) to Highway 93 South. Turn left onto Hwy 93 South and continue for 17 miles to Bowman Road. Turn right onto Bowman Road and drive 0.6 miles to Ricketts Road. Turn slightly left onto Ricketts Road and follow it for 3.8 miles to Blodgett Camp Road. Continue on Blodgett Camp Road for 2.1 miles to the trailhead.
From Hamilton, head west on Main Street, cross the Bitterroot River bridge, and turn right onto Ricketts Road. Drive 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Blodgett Camp Road (Forest Service Road 736) and stay on it for 4 miles. Continue past the FS Road 735 junction; the trailhead is located 1.5 miles beyond that point.
