Trapper Peak Trailhead

Trapper Peak Trailhead provides access to Trapper Peak Trail #133, the primary route to the summit of Trapper Peak, which rises to an elevation of 10,157 feet, the highest point in the Bitterroot Range. The trail enters the Selway‑Bitterroot Wilderness at just over 1 mile, where Wilderness regulations apply. The trailhead offers parking for only a few passenger vehicles, and while facilities are minimal, it serves as a convenient starting point for both day hikes and challenging alpine climbs. Visitors should be prepared for rugged steep terrain, rapidly changing weather, and limited amenities at the site.
