Twogood Cabin

Twogood Cabin is located 5 air miles southwest of Sula, MT. The log cabin measures 15’ x 19’ with a concrete floor and covered porch. There are 2 bunk beds which can accommodate 4 people. 4 people can sleep on the floor with camp pads and sleeping bags that you bring into the cabin. Bedding is not provided for the bunkbeds. There is a wood stove for heat which can also be used for slow cooking or warming and firewood is not provided, along with basic pots, pans utensils, a cooler for cold storage, a table and 4 chairs, propane cook stove, and 2 lanterns. Please provide your own 1-quart propane bottles. Porcupine Creek runs within a few feet of the cabin and is the sole source of water. It is recommended that you boil or use a water purifier prior to drinking as there are beaver dams located upstream. An outhouse toilet serves the cabin; however, you need to bring your own toilet paper. Three hitchrails for stock are located within site of the cabin and will accommodate up to 12 head of stock.

General Information

Warm Springs Creek runs north starting at the intersection of the Three Forks trail split for about 10 miles to the East Fork of the Bitterroot River.  

Warm Springs Creek flows primarily through National Forest land.  The lower 1.25 miles flow through private property.  This creek averages 20 feet wide and 7 inches deep.  Fishing is rated as fair with catches of 7-10" cutthroat not uncommon.

Directions

From Sula, MT head northwest 2.9 miles on Highway 93. Turn west (left) onto Medicine Springs Road (#370). Drive 4.5 miles to the Warm Springs Creek Trailhead. The hike from the trailhead is an easy six-mile hike. The trail travels along Warm Springs Creek to Three Forks (where three creeks come together) then one-mile up Porcupine Creek to the cabin. Trails that access the cabin are open to hiking, horseback riding, and mountain bikes (intermediate to advanced riders recommended).

Parking

Parking for the Twogood Cabin is at the Crazy Creek Campground day use parking area. Do not park in campsites.
