Roman Nose Trail #165
Roman Nose Trail #165 access all Roman Nose Lakes. This trail is an excellent multi-use trail for hiking, picnicking, fishing, hunting and huckleberry picking. It is easy and short enough that a beginning hiker can enjoy it, yet scenic enough that a more experienced hiker will find it a pleasant excursion.
The trail begins at the Roman Nose Parking Area. After leaving the parking area, the trail crosses a bridge and then the first 0.5 miles travels through an old burn site. The trail junctions with a loop trail at the 0.3-mile mark. Head left and follow the signs to begin the interpretive trail, however, if you are already familiar with that trail and would like to head straight to the upper lakes, take a right. The interpretive trail winds up the hillside and provides you with a fantastic view of the lower lake. The middle and upper lake both have good camping sites.
