Pyramid Pass Trail #13

The trailhead is located near the end of Road #634 and is marked by a parking area and bulletin board. The trail begins in a stand of young trees but after 200 yards enters mature spruce/alpine-fir forest.

At the 1/2 mile the trail junctions with Trail #43, the trail to Pyramid and Ball Lakes. A registration box intended for all upper Trout Creek area users is located at this junction. The trail continues through spruce/alpine-fir forest, occasionally crossing over wet areas on wooden walkways and winding past large boulders.

At the 1 mile the trail junctions with Trail #41, providing access to Trout and Big Fisher Lakes. Beyond the junction the trail climbs more rapidly toward Pyramid Pass. The timber thins out providing good views of Pyramid Peak and the upper Trout Creek drainage.

The trail enters Pyramid Pass at the 2-mile, a good place to rest and enjoy the view before starting down the other side into Long Canyon.

From the pass the trail continues for less than 1/2 mile to its terminus, the junction with Trail #7 (Long Canyon) and Trail #221 (Parker Ridge).
