Rito Hondo Reservoir Day Use Area
Pursuant to Title 16 USC 551, and 36 CFR 261.50 (a), (b), in the Rito Hondo Day Use Area as depicted on Attachment A, and further defined as an area beginning 200 feet south of Rito Hondo Dam and continuing northwest between the west edge
of FDR #513.4 and the east reservoir water line to 1/4 mile up the 4-wheel drive road (FDR 513.4) which runs out of the northwest corner of the fisherman parking area (T. 42 N., R. 3 W., Sec. 15 and 22 N.M.P.M.), the following are prohibited:
1. Camping. 36 CFR 261.58(e).
2. Parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted instructions. 36 CFR 26l.58(g).
3. Possessing or operating a boat with a gasoline powered motor on Rito Hondo Reservoir. 36 CFR 26l.58(n).
4. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire or campfire. 36 CFR 26l.52(a).
These regulations are for the purpose of protecting public health, safety, and the resource property, and are in addition to the 36 CFR 261 Subpart A General Prohibitions.
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempted from the order:
(1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
(4) Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
This order becomes effective March 14, 1994 and remains in effect until rescinded.

Violation of this order is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000.00 or imprisonment for not more than six months or both. (16 USC 551)
