Lower Beaver Creek Campground

Lower Beaver Creek Campground has 18 sites with tables and fireplaces, vault type toilets, centralized refuse bin and a developed drinking water system with hand pumps (in season) and ample turn around and parking space for trailers. 15 sites are dead end spurs and 3 sites are pull through spurs.  

 

Current Conditions
Partially open. Concessionaire operations ended September 2, 2024. Shoulder season fees apply after that. 5 sites remain open during the winter with no services provided. May become inaccessible due to snow levels.

All sites are first come, first served and cannot be reserved.

General Information

Trash service is provided by the concessionaire from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Outside of the summer season, there is no trash service.  Please pack out all garbage.

Attractions in the area include fishing in Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir and Tewksberry Trail #842 is available for hiking, biking, ATV riding just to the west. 

The nearby Beaver Creek Reservoir features a boat ramp and fishing for Brown, Brook and Rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon. On Beaver Creek Reservoir: Boats allowed, no wakes permitted, trolling motors are okay. Concrete boat ramp. Visitors must have a Colorado Fishing License to fish Beaver Creek or Beaver Reservoir. 

 The full campground is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. 5 of the campsites remain open year-round, but may be inaccessible due to snow levels or spring road closures. 

From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, there are higher fees, water, and trash service. During the off-season, there is a reduced fee, no water, and trash must be packed out.

Check in time is after 2:00 pm. Check out time is before 11:00 am.

Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to single campsites ONLY.

*The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.

Interagency Recreation Passes are Honored for Day Use.

Please be prepared to pay with cash or check.
 

14-day camping limit.

Fires in designated fire rings only.

This can be bear country. Remain "Bear Aware" and store food properly while camping.

Sites will have $2.00 additional weekend fee and $2.00 additional Holiday fee.

Fee envelopes and a collection box are provided near the entrance.  

Host usually present to assist with parking and fees during summer season.

Dogs must be on leash not longer than six feet in length.

Directions

Directions from South Fork, Colorado: Travel one mile south on U.S. Highway 160 (toward Pagosa Springs) to Forest Road 360. Take FR 360 south for 4.5 miles to Lower Beaver Creek Campground entrance.

Parking

Maximum spur length is 45 feet. Not all sites will fit vehicles of this length.
