Raspberry Trailhead - Trail # 853

The Raspberry trail is 5.4 miles long. There is no legal access on the west side of the Sangre de Cristo mountains; the road is through the Zapata Subdivision. The trail begins on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land for a short distance before it hits the Forest Service Boundary. This trail is not maintained and is very overgrown. It continues over the crest of the Sangre de Cristos and meets the trail following the Huerfano River on the San Isabel N.F. The trail is open for the following uses: Horseback Riding hiking, and backpacking.
