Big Meadows Loop Trail

Closed due to flooding in October 2025, bridge on the back side of the loop is out.

The Big Meadows Loop trail is 1.5 miles long. It begins at Forest Trail 839 Trail Head at the Boat Ramp parking lot and circles the lake. The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, horse back riding, mtn biking. This trail makes an excellent short day hike near South Fork, CO. Expect great mountain views and some wildlife such as waterfowl.

Directions

This trail circles the Big Meadows Reservior providing hiking and fishing access to lake shorelines. Makes an excellent loop. See Big Meadows Campground for directions from town.
