Colorado Trail - Twin Sisters Trail

Twin Sisters Trail #555 is a section of the Colorado Trail, a through hike connecting Denver to Durango. It trails begins at the end of Little Molas Road and ends at Rico-Silverton Trail #507. A gorgeous trail hovering near and above tree line giving sweeping vistas but make sure to plan ahead for rapidly changing weather.

West from Molas Pass the Colorado Trail stays at high elevation, above treeline for most of the way to Bolam Pass. This and the connecting trails in the area are popular high altitude mountain bike trails once the snow melts in July.

Getting There

Directions

From Durango, CO: Travel about 40 miles north on U.S. 550 to just north of Molas Pass. Turn west (left) onto FR 584 towards Little Molas Lake and take the road until it dead ends at a large parking area and trailhead.

From Silverton, CO: Travel about 6 miles south on U.S. 550 to the turnoff of FR 584 towards Little Molas Lake. Turn west (right) and take the road until it dead ends at a large parking area and trailhead.
