Muleshoe Loop Trail
Muleshoe Loop (176) is a nicely shaded non-motorized trail provides nice early-season hiking opportunities through oak brush and scattered pine. A short steep section further along gains a wide ridge with nice views of the La Plata Mountains. At the farthest west point on the loop you may come across an arrow sign to the left which will take you off the loop and onto a Mancos State Park trail called “Black Bear”.

Please Note: The soils in the area have a high clay content and are prone to damage from use when wet. Please allow time for the trail to dry after rainstorms, typically about 24 hrs after a storm. Always remember to stay on the trail.

Directions
From the Dolores Public Lands Office turn left onto Hwy 184 heading toward Mancos. Continue 16.7 miles to CR 42/ W. Mancos Rd. (561). Turn left and travel 5.3 mi. The trailhead is just past the forest boundary on the left.
