Prescribed Fire Schedule
Fire managers can only move forward with ignitions when a prescription is met. Dozens of factors make up a prescription, including wind speeds, relative humidity, onsite and adjacent fuel moistures, and how smoke is expected to disperse.
Locations
There are several potential projects fire crews could move forward with in fall 2026. It is unlikely every project will move forward, or that all acres will be treated within each unit. New projects may be added if circumstances change.

All listed projects are for understory burning. Pile burning locations* will be announced later in the season, when significant winter weather is forecasted. Check the prescribed fire alert for scheduled ignitions and rolling updates.

Dates
With specific prescription criteria needed, ignition days can only be determined up to 72 to 24 hours in advance (get notifications).
Even then, ignitions could be postponed the morning of planned work due to sudden changes in weather. So think of the above list of locations as a menu of options for fire managers to choose from when and if prescriptions are met.
