Final Plan, Final Environmental Impact Statement, and Record of Decision
The Carson NF has worked with our Government Working Group (cooperating agencies) and the public to develop a Final Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement. These final documents incorporate updates based on public comments received during the 2019 formal comment period. Responses to public comments are documented in Appendix A of the Final Environmental Impact Statement. The Final Plan is slightly modified compared to the proposed alternative and represents the preferred action. It includes components that apply to the entire forest (forest-wide), designated areas, and management areas. Plan components include desired conditions, objectives, standards, and guidelines.
The Final Environmental Impact Statement was prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other relevant Federal and State laws and regulations. This environmental impact statement discloses the indirect, and cumulative environmental and socio-economic impacts that would result from the preferred action and alternatives. The rational for selecting the preferred alternative are detailed in the Draft Record of Decision.
