Tonto National Forest Lakes Fish Habitat Improvement Project

The purpose of this project is authorize Arizona Game and Fish Department to construct and install natural and artificial fish habitat structures to increase fish habitat in Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, Saguaro, and Bartlett lakes on the Tonto National Forest. There is a need to create a better fishing experience in these lakes for anglers and to increase angler catch rates to maintain the recreational experience for the public. This project is a cooperative effort between angler groups, Tonto National Forest, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and others.
