Picnicking
From eating trail mix on a rock with a view, to a full meal with your favorite people, picnicking on the forest is a great place to slow down and savor the moment.
The Ashley National Forest is full of picnic opportunities- you might even have a few new wild guests join you.
Picnicking - Single
Bring your picnic basket to one of the developed picnic and day use areas scattered throughout the forest. Most picnic areas are on a first-come basis. Some locations have a picnic table, vault toilets, and fire grates or rings. Most areas do not have trash service, so please pack-out what you pack-in.
Picnicking - Group
Planned or impromptu, picnics with family and friends is a memorable experience for many forest visitors. The Ashley National Forest has designated picnic areas, day-use sites, and overlooks available for small and large group picnics.
