Posey Lake Campground

This campground is adjacent to Posey Lake, a small fishing lake. Posey Lake has a boat ramp for non-motorized boating and two docks. There are two hiking trails that start in the campground. Access to the Great Western Trail from the campground allows hiking, biking, and horse riding.

Current Conditions
Campsites 7-23 will be renumbered during the 2025 season. The new numbers will be 6-22. This means that group site 14 will be number 13 etc. If you have already made a reservation for group site 14 your reservation will remain with the group campsite

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

  • Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Campfires in developed fire pits only
  • Fireworks are prohibited
  • Dogs must be on leash
  • ATV’s and non-street legal UTVs are allowed at the day use area on the south end of the lake and at campsites 2, 3, and 4. Street legal UTVs are allowed throughout the campground but must stay on roads and spurs.
  • Maximum length of stay: 14 days

$16 + depending on site type, number of vehicles and number of visitors.

Directions

From Escalante, turn north on 300 East. At 0.7 miles, the road will fork, stay right.  After 3.5 miles the road will turn to dirt and is now called Forest Road 153 (FR 153). At 13.6 miles the road will fork, turn left on FR 154 and follow signs to Posey Lake Campground.

Posey Lake is within walking distance from the campground. There is a boat launch and two floating docks.  The lake is fairly small but being out on a boat is ideal for fishing and bird watching.
