Area Closure Order
PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b}, the following acts are prohibited on the area, roads, and trails as described in this order, in the Bridgeport Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest beginning May 11, 2011, at 12:00 P.M. and continuing until further notice.
- It is prohibited to go into or be upon any area which is closed for the protection of:
g. The privacy of tribal activities for traditional and cultural purposes. [36 CFR 261.53(g)]
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), each of the following is exempt from this order.
- Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
- Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons invited by the Yerington Paiute Tribe to participate in this event.
AREA DESCRIBED
All areas, roads and trails that cover an area approximately 1 acre in size, located West of Forest Road #42050 and East of Desert Creek, near the junctions of Forest Road #42050 and #42050P, that lies within the Southwest ¼ of the Southwest ¼ or the Northwest ¼ of Section 4, Township 8 North, Range 24 East, on the Bridgeport Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest as show on Exhibit A, Map.
PURPOSE
To protect the privacy of tribal activities for traditional and cultural purposes.
IMPLEMENTATION
- This Special Order implementing Area Closure Restrictions is effective at 12:00 P.M. on May 11, 2011, and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
- Exhibit A, Map and Exhibit B, Definitions are attached and incorporated into this ORDER.
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as a class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than $5000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for an organization and/or imprisonment of not more than 6 months [Title 16 USC 551, 18 USC 3571(b) (6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b) (7)].
