Rainbow Canyon Flood Diversion Structure Area Closure
A. PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the area roads and trails as described in this order, in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest until this order is rescinded.
It is prohibited to go into or be upon any area which is closed for the protection of: Public Health and Safety described below:

B. EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) and (f) each of the following is exempt from this order.
- Persons with a permit specifically exempting them for the effect of this Order.
- Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
C. AREA DESCRIBED
The closure is described as being located in T19S, R57E, Section 31 NEl/4 which is South and East of the Rainbow Canyon subdivision and South of Highway 157, Mt. Charleston, Nevada. The closed area includes the entire flood diversion structure (excavated areas, rocks and grout). The entire flood diversion structure is closed to all entry including all recreation activities such as walking and snow play. Area is depicted on attached map, Exhibit A.
D. PURPOSE
The purpose of the closure order is to provide for public safety.
E. IMPLEMENTATION
- This Special Ordering implementing Rainbow Canyon Area Closure is effective on April 26, 2015 at 8 A.M. and shall remain in effect until rescinded.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as a class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than individual or $10,000.00 for an organization and/or imprisonment of not more than 6 months [Title 16 USC 551, 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)]
