French Creek Trailhead

French Creek Trailhead on the McCall Ranger District offers access to several trails in the area, and also the historic Trapper's Cabin at the end of Forest Service Road #260.  French Creek, Little French Creek and Cloochman Saddle areas are accessed from here.

The French Creek Trail #116 originates at the end of the road traveling north all the way to Jenkins Crossing and into the Hazard Lakes Area once crossing over Center Ridge.  Center Ridge Trail #504 starts in North Fork Meadows and intersect with the French Creek Spur Trail #308 which if traveling south, terminates at Fisher Creek Saddle near Black Tip Peak (elevation 8, 292') - traveling north, trail #504 terminates near Lava Lakes Trailhead in the Hazard Lakes area.  The north bound Bear Pete Ridge Trail #142 terminates in the meadows having traveled all the way from Bear Pete Trailhead in the Burgdorf/French Creek Area.

Directions

From McCall, head north on Warren Wagon Road for about 22 miles.  Approximately 2.5 miles north of Upper Payette Lake, turn left (west) onto the Forest Service Road #260.
