BEAVER CREEK SKI TRAIL/DOG RESTRICTIONS SPECIAL ORDER OF FOREST SUPERVISOR WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST 

Kamas Ranger District

 

The following act is established to provide for public safety during winter recreation use and to reduce crowded conditions and user conflicts. 

 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the area described on the attached map and described in this order within lhe Wasatch-Cache National Forest until further notice.

  1. Possessing a dog on EVEN-NUMBERED DAYS, on the Beaver Creek Ski Trail (also referred toas the Scenic Byway Trail) f om December 15 through March 31. [36 CFR 261 .58 (s)]
  2. Use of any type of motorized vehicle on the Beaver Creek Ski Trail when snow has accumulated on the trail. [36 CFR 261.54 (a)]

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a permit or contract specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act.
  2. Authorized Federal, state, or local officers, or members of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duty, when authorized by the District Ranger.

Area Described 

The Beaver Creek Ski Trail, also referred to as the Scenic Byway Trail, begins across from the Yellowpine Trailhead on SR 150 mile marker 6.2 and terminates at the North Fork Winter Parking on SR 150 mile marker 11.8. The trail runs adjacent to SR 150 and can be accessed al a variety of points along the highway including but not limited to mile markers 6.2 (Yellowpine Trailhead), 7.4 (Administration Site), 8.4 (Beaver Creek Picnic Area), 9 

(Taylor Fork Campground), 9.5 (Shingle Creek Campground), 10.7 (Pine Valley Road), and 11.8 (North Fork Winter Trailhead).

Violation of this prohibition is punishable by fine or not more than $5000 or imprisonment f not more than 6 months or both[l6USC 551, 18 USC 3571 (b) (6)]. 

 

This order supersedes any previous orders/notices for the above described areas, and same said violation(s).
