To protect vegetation, riparian and watershed areas near and adjacent to the South Fork of the Ogden River and to help restore vegetation, land and stream bank stability, the following order is established until permanent recreation facilities and traffic barrier controls are constructed in the area. 

 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the area described below and as shown on the map. All lands affected are located on the Ogden Ranger District, Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This order is in effect until further notice.

  1. Possessing or using a vehicle. (36 CFR 261. 56)
  2. Camping. (36 CFR 261. 58 (e))
  3. Being in the area after sundown or before sunrise. ( 3 6 CFR 2 61. 5 8 ( 1) ) .

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following acts, or persons, are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a permit or contract authorizing the otherwise prohibited act.
  2. Authorized Federal, state, or local officers, or members of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duty, when authorized by the District Ranger.

Area described: 

The restricted area is located between State Road 39 and the South Fork of the Ogden River, between Hobble and Botts Campgrounds, northwest quarter of section 7, Township 6 North, Range 3 East, SLBM as shown on the map.

Violation of this prohibition is punishable by fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment of not more than 6 months or both(16USC 551; 18USC 3571(b) (6)) 

This order supersedes any previous orders/notices for the above described areas, and same said violation(s)
