NORTH OGDEN FIREARMS 

SPECIAL ORDER OF FOREST SUPERVISOR

WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST 

OGDEN RANGER DISTRICT

Many members of the public are using areas adjacent to North Ogden Divide Road to target practice with firearms creating a major littering problem and a high risk hazard potential to Forest Users in the area. To reduce these problems the following order is established.

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited on the area shown on the attached map and described in this order. All lands affected are located on the Ogden Ranger District, Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This order is in effect until further notice.

1. Discharging any type of firearm, air rifle or gas gun within 100 yards in any direction of the Weber County Road commonly known as the North Ogden Divide Road (36 CFR 261.SS(m)).

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following acts, or persons, are exempt from this order:

1. Persons with a permit or contract authorizing the otherwise prohibited act.
2. Authorized Federal, state, or local officers, or members of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duty, when authorized by the District Ranger.

AREA DESCRIPTION: All National Forest Lands within 100 yards in any direction of the North Ogden Divide Road, Weber County, Utah, or more specifically, all National Forest Lands located in Township 7 North, Range 1 West, Sections 24,

25 and 26, that are located within 100 yards of the North Ogden Divide Road.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment of not more than 6 months or both.(16USC 551; 18USC 3571(b)(6))

This order supersedes any previous order for the above described area and prohibitions.
