Located near the historic mining town of La Porte, Little Grass Valley Recreation Area offers scenic lakefront camping, hiking, horseback riding, OHV, boating and fishing in western Plumas County.  The area is a popular getaway for residents in Valley communities looking for relief from the heat during the summer, with the high elevation reservoir known for staying colder longer.  The area typically opens in late June or early July as one of the last recreation areas to be accessed as snow melts.
