Public Use Restrictions
Current Restrictions: No Public Use Restrictions are currently in place within the Scenic Area.
*Fireworks and explosives (including explosive targets) are prohibited year-round on national forest lands.
When fuel moistures and weather conditions create increased wildfire potential in the Columbia River Gorge, public fire restrictions are put in place on Forest Service-managed lands. Fire restrictions help reduce the chance of a human-caused wildfire start.

About Industrial Fire Precaution Levels
Industrial Fire Precaution Level (or IFPL) applies to permitted, commercial, and industrial operations on Federal lands. The Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area is a major wildland-urban interface that works in conjunction with our state partners to determine fire danger levels and restrictions. Please note separate restrictions may apply at Oregon and Washington state parks or on private lands. Always look for signs and kiosks on site to understand if additional restrictions apply.
- Washington State Department of Natural Resources is the source for restriction information for Clark, Skamania, and Klickitat Counties
- Oregon Department of Forestry provides information about fire restrictions in place in Multnomah, Hood River, Wasco Counties
