Frater Lake Trailhead / Sno-Park

Frater Lake Trailhead and Sno-Park offers a pleasant short looping trail system and a cabin/warming hut for day use only 1/2 mile from the trailhead. An abundance of wildlife can be observed on and around Frater Lake. Frater Lake is an 11 acre, 15’ deep lake, known for excellent summer and winter Sno-Park recreation opportunities.

The trailhead Provides access to Frater Lake Trail #150/Lake Leo Trail #155 and Little Pend Oreille Off Road Vehicle Trail System.

General Information

History: Frater Lake was named after an early trapper in the area while nearby Lake Leo was name for the son of Claude Sanders, and early surveyor. The warming cabin was built by Forest Service employees and a Senior Citizen Supplemental Employment Program crew.
