Christmas Tree Permits
This permit allows you to cut a Christmas Tree on the Malheur National Forest! Lifelong memories are built during these special times and we are happy to help with any information gathering you'll need to make this trip a safe and enjoyable one. Please be sure to read and agree to all the tips and guidelines when selecting your tree.
Get a Christmas Tree Permit
Purchase a permit in person:
To purchase permits in person, visit any Malheur National Forest office or one of this year’s Christmas Tree Permit vendors:

Purchase online:
Get a Christmas Tree Permit online at Recreation.gov. It is important to carefully read the overview and need-to-know information prior to purchasing the permit. Visitors will also need to set up or log in to a Recreation.gov account to complete the transaction.
**Free Tree Permit for 4th Graders
The Every Kid Outdoors program grants free access to fourth graders and family members to over 2,000 federal lands and waters for exploration and a free Christmas Tree permit. Visit Every Kid Outdoors for more information on how to obtain your voucher visit or visit your local Forest Service office.
